The Transition Orientation Program (TOP) is a two-day event hosted by the Office of Academic Support which includes a series of workshops, seminars, and social events. We welcome all students with a stronger emphasis on students that are first-generation college students, participants in AIM, and students that are from underserved populations. Our mission for the TOP is to initiate the development of support systems to assist students in transitioning to college. Students are informed about campus resources and provided with academic information to assist with making knowledgeable decisions regarding their academic development and personalized plan of study. Students are provided with clear expectations for college success.
We are excited and proud to serve hundreds of incoming freshmen who participate in the summer and fall TOP! The goal is to assist in preparing students for a successful beginning at UF, and we do this by providing workshops and informational sessions presented by a variety of representatives including financial advisors, library services, Counseling and Wellness, and academic advisors. The TOP emphasizes parental involvement during the initial transitioning to college and are invited to attend and participate in selected sessions.
Registering for the TOP guarantees students are matched with an OAS Peer Coach.
