Bio

Dana received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from UF in 1995 and her Master’s and Specialist degrees in Mental Health Counseling from UF’s College of Education in 1999.  For several years, Dana worked in the mental health sector, specializing in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, brief therapy, and community-centered education programs.  From 2002 to 2006, Dana directed the training program for a local crisis counseling agency where she worked primarily with the University of Florida students.  She loved working with the college population and has been a life-long appreciator and advocate of the arts, so the transition from the mental health sector to undergraduate advising at the university was a natural fit for Dana.  She started working for the School of Art + Art History as the Undergraduate Advisor in the Summer of 2006.

As the Undergraduate Advisor to the School of Art + Art History, Dana advises approximately 400 art and art history majors and serves as the lead contact for admissions as well as academic and student support services for the School.  Dana is active on several schools, colleges, and University committees.

Why PROMISE

I love working with new students to help them realize their potential and all of the amazing ways to get more involved and supported at UF!
