Bio

Erica Alexander is a native of Quincy, Florida. She is a 2008 graduate of East Gadsden High School and a TRIO Alumni of the Florida State University Upward Bound Program. Erica has a Bachelor’s in Criminology and English Literature from Florida State University. She has a Master’s from Southern New Hampshire University in Psychology with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Development. Erica has worked in various settings ranging from local to state government and now higher education.

She has 5 years of experience working in higher education. Her experience within higher education spans from the FSU Office of Financial Aid, UF Office for Student Financial Affairs, and currently as an Academic Advisor with the UF College of Health and Human Performance. She serves as a mentor for the University Minority Mentor Program.

As a first-generation student, I understand the difficulty of acclimating and navigating the college life. The opportunity to work with PROMISE Scholars allows me to assist and guide students with navigating the college experience and life.
