The Peer Coaches aid in the OAS effort to serve and support UF Promise and UF SSS program participants. Peer Coaches make themselves available for at least 4 hours a week for office hours, where they meet one-on-one with students. During this time, Peer Coaches collaborate with the OAS Undergraduate Peer Coordinators to plan workshops, social events, fundraisers, and program promotion. A one-year commitment is required, and mentoring experience is preferred. Peer Coaches must also have a well-based knowledge of UF resources and possess effective communication skills. In return, Peer Coaches gain valuable leadership skills and opportunities in addition to academic and personal development.
